The Islamic School of Canberra is a K-7 school in Weston, Canberra ACT. It currently has a student population of 226 students and is currently experiencing significant enrolment growth.
Together with an intended expansion of our secondary programme we are in need of additional staff. Please consider the following positions and make contact with the school if further information is required.
ACCOUNTANT/ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
The Islamic School of Canberra is seeking an ACCOUNTANT/ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT to enhance our finance team.
The applicant needs to have qualifications in Accountancy and experience in working within a team environment. An understanding of accountancy within a school environment and an awareness of government compliance as it applies to the Australian education context would be valuable.
This role would also involve dealing with administrative matters, communicating with the community and assisting staff in effective and ongoing management of students. The Accountant would need to work closely with the Board and Principal and be required to prepare financial report for Board and Government regulators as required.
SCHOOL ASSISTANT
The Islamic School of Canberra is seeking a SCHOOL ASSISTANT to enhance our front office team.
This staff member will be responsible for a variety of administrative duties (but not limited to) data entry, managing of student and family records and handling front office community communication. It would also be expected that the applicant is supportive of the safety and wellbeing of students and has capacity to assist students who are unwell across the school day.
Applicants with a bus license and/or experience in working within a school setting would be highly desirable.
TEACHERS
The Islamic School of Canberra is seeking teachers to enhance our very strong academic staff. The applicant is qualified to teach -
PDHPE
MIDDLE SCHOOL GENERALIST (Skills in English/History or The Arts or Technology)
Demonstrated skills in working with inclusion/EASLD students would be highly desirable along with evidence that indicates creativity, innovation and differentiation in teaching and learning.
